What is it?
A primer on the halachos and minhagim of Chuppah v’Kiddushin. Participants will study the original Shulchan Aruch and commentaries, and apply it to the practicalities of officiating at a wedding.
Who is it for?
Primarily rabbis, shluchim, and kolel yungerleit. However, the course is open to anyone interested in learning these halachos.
What is the certification?
Receive a certificate of course completion, signed by the Chief Rabbi of Israel and others, authorizing you to perform weddings in Israel.

To know how to perform a wedding exactly according to halachah is of utmost necessity for a rabbi. This course will walk you through the various steps of a marriage process, from the wedding preps all the way to the yichud room.

Course Curriculum
The course was developed by the Machon Smicha team, under the guidance of Rabbi Yehoram Ulman and Rabbi Mordechai Farkash. The topics covered by the course are subdivided into four primary topics:
1. Hilchos Yuchsin (The Laws of Genealogy)

The behind-the-scenes, first step, to a marriage. This includes topics such as who may marry whom, mamzerim, kohanim, and unknown familial ties.
2. Hilchos Eidim (The Laws of Witnesses)
שלחן ערוך חושן משפט סימן ל”ג, אבן העזר סימן מ”ב
One of the most fundamental and important elements of a marriage – ensuring the halachic acceptability of the witnesses, exploring who may or may not serve as a witness, and what they do at the wedding.
3. Hilchos Kesubah (The Laws of a Kesubah)
חלקים מסדר קידושין ונישואין – מדריך מפורטExploring the all-important marriage contract between husband and wife – what it is, and how to write a proper, kosher, one.
4. Chuppah v’Kiddushin
חלקים מסדר קידושין ונישואין – מדריך מפורט
The process of officiating at the actual wedding. This Includes understanding all the steps of the chuppah ceremony, and what to do when.
Shiurim on the Shulchan Aruch by Rabbi Kesselman. Additionally, Rabbis Ulman and Farkash deliver shiurim throughout the course, drawing from their wealth of knowledge and insight, both halachic and practical, and sharing that with the students.
